Decanter 2019 - Pušipel classic and graševina IB
A great recognition for Pušipel classic in the normal vintage category has arrived under our roof.
A step that opens the door to the indigenous variety on world shelves and wine lists. The certificate of the quality of the variety arrives from London. A variety that, although unknown, wins medals at competitions every year and in all categories.
Straight from London: Decanter’s Silver Medal.
Graševina selected harvest 2012 – silver
Decanter 2018 Jakopić – Pušipel prestige
Everything suddenly took on a different meaning and value, and then a new hope was born for our second wine.
At the same time, while Graševina was ripening for us in 2015, with only a few days’ delay, Pušipel berries were also ripening at our grand cru locations.
There was also a selected berry picking, but as the winemaking process was a little slower, we sent the samples for Decanter’s panel only this year, in 2018.

Decanter 2017 Jakopić – Graševina IBPB
There were successive harvests, but it was only in 2015 that the optional harvest of dried Graševina berries appeared. With the harvest we saw that we are on the trail of a truly great and stable wine with a reflection of the Međimurje terroir. The only thing missing was the important confirmation that we finally had great wine.
Confirmation indeed arrived straight from London: Decanter’s platinum medal.
And it all started in 1908...
1908
Ever since 1908, on the Jakopić estate, sometime in the days at the end of summer, the same restlessness and great ceremony of waiting for the first drops of must have been repeated.
With them, the life of great wines begins again and again, the quality of which is wrapped in silver, and only the best ones drip with gold.
Tradition is deeply rooted in the family estate. In 1908, great-grandfather Filip gave the stamp of personality to the first wine, and today in Železna Gora, three generations of the family make wine with a lot of love and passion.
